Maureen Denise McCormick - the youngest and sole daughter of Richard McCormick in 1956 was born at Woodland Hills (California) on 5 August. The mother was also a homemaker. Michael, Dennis, Kevin and her sister are older. McCormick started dancing and singing at an early age and would often perform puppet shows for the kids in her neighbourhood. Following her win in her first Baby Miss San Fernando Valley contest when she was just six years old, Pat Domigan from the Jack Wormser Agency called her asking whether she wanted to go into the showbiz. McCormick's first big job was in 1964 when she appeared in an advertisement for Mattel's newly released doll "Baby Pattaburp." Another commercial for Mattel was filmed in 1964 for the "Chatty-Cathy" doll. The following year, she was cast as the lead role in the show The Brady Bunch: Wind It up and It Breaks on the stage of Playhouse in La Jolla Playhouse. The Brady Bunch' In 1969, McCormick was chosen from an audience of 1200 kids that auditioned to be the youngest of three daughters on the new TV comedy The Brady Bunch, starring Florence Henderson and Robert Reed as newlyweds who have a blended family. The run of five seasons of the show proved to be a huge success. McCormick stated in her 2008 memoir, Here's The Story: Surviving Marcia Brady & Finding My True Voice that she nearly losing her virginity in the fifth season of the show to Barry Williams, her co-star and brother on screen. She was just 16 years old old and the actor was 19, at that moment. She stated that "it was likely to have happened" however the timing was not the right time.
